Permission Post and General Info
Appearance notes: Ronan is tall, about a couple inches over 6 feet. He has a sharp, angular face and a long nose. His eyes are icy blue and he's very good at piercing stares. He has a Southern accent (the western part of Virginia, to be specific).
He has a tattoo that covers most of his back, his shoulders, and goes a little up his neck. The tattoo is described in canon as intricate and the shapes always seem to change but involve screaming faces, flowers, claws, beaks, and other weird imagery from his dreams. Ronan also has scars on his arms.
Warnings: Ronan’s recovering from alcohol abuse. He's been suicidal in the past. He’s also got PTSD from finding his father's body. I don't to go into specifics unless I know the other player is comfortable with it but he sometimes has brief flashbacks and thoughts about it. He can be violent though if it looks like things will get physical, I'll get in touch first. He yells a lot and is an asshole in general. When his canon point is during the events of The Raven Cycle he can make some misogynist, racist, etc. comments though not often (and I'll avoid them entirely if that's a no for you). After The Raven Cycle he's done some growing up and won't make these remarks.
Basically if any of that is a problem and you want me to tone down or avoid any of the above completely or you just don't want to play with him, let me know.
PLEASE AVOID: Domestic abuse, marijuana use, and suicide, especially falling to death. I'm fine with having the characters discuss it having happened in the past but not with playing out but I would like a head's up in advance, even just a CW in the subject line or a brief line at the start of the tag. Other than that, if it's IC for your character I don't have a problem.
Tagging Speed I usually tag at least once a day but I can miss a few days. I try to never drop a thread until it's finished. If I do, I probably lost the notification and you can poke me.
Format: I prefer prose but I can also do bracket tags. I use past tense for prose and brackets. I don't mind if our tenses don't match.
Backtagging: For memes and PSLs, pretty much as long as I haven't stopped playing Ronan, none of the threads have an expiration date. The same is mostly true for games but I like to wrap them up within a few months.
Threadhopping: On a network post, go for it. If you’d like to join a thread in a log, please ask first.
Fourthwalling: I'd rather not. If it’s an integral part of the character ICly, we can work something out.
Shipping and smut: Ronan is gay so M/M only. For canonmates, I only ship Adam/Ronan and Ronan/Noah. I don't ship Ronan/Kavinsky but love their canon dynamic so I'm good with Kavinsky's unrequited messed up feelings of some variety while Ronan is oblivious.
I'm open to cross canon but that will require some quick planning to make sure they don't get off on the wrong foot and never recover. Ronan's drawn to clever, practical, and ambitious guys. Bonus points if they are supernatural in some way. I'd like them to be about the same age as Ronan so anywhere from 16-early 20s depending his time point. Not interested in power imbalances like boss/employee or student/teacher.
Please ask first for smut threads. I'm alright with smut if all the players and characters are over 18. I usually play Ronan from when he's 18 and yes, I'm definitely over 18.
Fighting with/injuring this character: Yes, please. If you want to do something that escalates to broken bones and/or beyond, let’s get in touch first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: I don't mind but that can get complicated since 1. Ronan is like an onion, he has layers and also tends to give psychics headaches. 2. He will freak out if he finds out someone is reading his mind. Please get in touch with me so we can work out the details.
Magical Abilities: Ronan can create things in his dreams and bring them back to reality. If your character can detect magical ability, he's positively oozing it. In canon he's so powerful that one of the psychics touches him and feels awful after. He has this aura of endless potential and feels like he's constantly creating things. Also, if his raven is with him, she is one of his dream creations.
